ABOUT TRICKING
Tricking is a training discipline that combines kicks with flips and twists from gymnastics and martial arts. Commonly called trickers, practitioners demonstrate such techniques as the 540 kick, the corkscrew, the flashkick, the butterfly twist and a cheat 540. It aims to achieve an aesthetic display of different combinations of “tricks”.
Trickers focus mainly on linking together chains of acrobatic kicks, flips and twists in combinations, or combos. Trickers train and can be found in many locations, including fields, Martial Arts dojos, Gymnastics gyms, and even public locales. One of our workshop instructors likes to shock his teachers by doing tricks on school grounds.

David Tullier
David Tullier is a 2nd degree Black Belt at American Family Martial Arts
David began his training in martial arts when he was able to walk and has trained primarily in Tang Soo Do. In early 2017, David began practicing extreme staff after attending a seminar by Jackson Rudolph. David competed at the “Rumble N Humble” tournament and took home Grand Champion with his extreme staff form. In his first weapons division at this tournament, the judges were unable to score him because they had never seen anything like it. The tournament director had witnessed his performance literally stopping the room and placed him in the grand champion division.
In January of 2018 David attended a tricking gathering called “Experience Tricking” in New Orleans, La and learned many new skills. He continued training with extreme staff until a wrist injury prevented him from doing so for many months. During the time he was injured, David began to train in tricking more and more until it became his main style of training and he continues to progress in his ability in both tricking and extreme staff.
